Beyond the Classroom
Undergraduate Research
Psychology majors at CNU have many opportunities to engage in research in close collaboration with faculty. Usually reserved for graduate students at other schools, undergraduate research is a great way to deeply explore the field of psychology and develop skills that will have lasting benefit, no matter what field you pursue after graduation. Our labs cover a wide range of areas within psychology, including:
- Adaptation, cognition and evolution
- Applied psychology
- Creativity research
- Cognition, language and literacy
- Emotion and personality
- Group and organizational dynamics
- Human development
- Learning and behavior
- Social and emotional development
- And more!
Internships
You’ll be involved in designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting at conferences. Internship opportunities at local clinics and hospitals are a great way to develop practical skills in the field.
Service
Psychology students also are active in co-curricular groups, such as the Psychology Club and Psi Chi (the international psychology honor society), which offer opportunities for service and civic engagement.
