Humble Boy
April 6-7 and 12-15
Ungainly Cambridge astrophysicist Felix Humble returns to his childhood home in rural England for his father's funeral. Over the summer, he struggles to create his own personal Eureka moment out of an unfaithful mother, her spinster friend, a former girlfriend, her loutish father and the family gardener. As Felix darts from grief to lust to righteous indignation to acceptance, he must overcome such obstacles as his mother's impending remarriage, a missing hive of bumblebees, and a decidedly suspect pot of gazpacho soup. Shades of Hamlet, as viewed through the lens of the sharpest Brit-coms, buzz throughout this funny, poignant study in family dysfunction.
