Pre-Law Council
The Pre-law Council is chaired by the Director of Pre-law and is comprised of key faculty from the major disciplines that most often lead to law school admission.
The Director of Pre-law provides top-level guidance to our upper-level students on track for law school, conducts information sessions for freshmen and sophomores, arranges LSAT prep and practice testing sessions, and provides information and training to Core Advisors.
The Pre-law Council plays an active and vital role in pre-law advising in several ways. First, the Council recommends policy regarding processes for identifying capable/promising students, preparing these students to excel on the LSAT, and helping them gain admission to the best law schools. Next, these faculty members typically serve as the "major" advisor for pre-law students in their disciplines. The Council members also take referrals from the Admission Office when prospective students and parents want guidance on pre-law offerings. Council members can be found representing the Pre-law Program at various Admission events throughout the year.
