Accounting
Understanding accounting, often called the language of business, is critical to the decision-making process of virtually every economic entity. Accountants are in a unique position to provide valuable assistance and guidance to businesses, governments, not-for-profits, and individuals. They are found at the highest levels of responsibility across a wide variety of industries, and accounting graduates frequently use their training to enhance adjacent careers in management, finance, and marketing.
The Luter School of Business Accounting program provides hands-on accounting experience to students through case studies and community outreach projects. With an emphasis on critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and the development of data analytics skills, students learn to analyze financial information and communicate effectively with stakeholders. From local and regional public accounting firms to the “Big Four,” our instructors maintain strong industry ties to assist students with internships and career opportunities.
