The program is flexible enough to fit a wide variety of interests and is designed for students planning to pursue a PhD, teachers who seek a master’s degree in a biological science or students interested in careers with environmental agencies.
Five-year Bachelor’s-to Master’s Program
Current Christopher Newport students can apply during their junior year and earn a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree with a thesis with 30 additional credits beyond the bachelor’s degree.
Traditional Master's Program
Traditional program with thesis
Current Christopher Newport seniors and those who already hold a bachelor’s degree can apply to the traditional program. With 30 graduate hours, you can earn a master in environmental science while doing original research in the field.
Traditional program non-thesis option
Students who have an undergraduate degree, or will have by the time they enter, may take 33 graduate hours to earn their MS in environmental science.
