Programs
Students in any major can make study abroad a part of their academic program. Those who plan ahead can study for an academic year, a semester or a summer and still graduate on time.
Students who prefer not to do full immersion can enroll in programs offering courses in English, with housing in residence halls or apartments. Students may also participate in approved non-CNU programs. Offerings include semester, summer, academic year and short-term study abroad options.
Each summer Christopher Newport faculty lead several group study abroad programs. Locations and course topics vary each summer.

The CNU in Florence program allows students to study abroad with CNU faculty and a group of CNU students for 11 weeks at one of the top international universities in the world, Florence University of the Arts (FUA). Students will take one course taught by the CNU faculty and then select 4 additional courses to take at FUA. This program is open to sophomores and juniors who have maintained a minimum 2.7 grade-point average.
