Call for Presenters
Submission deadline: January 7, 2025
Proposals are currently being accepted for the following types of sessions:

Full 60 minute sessions | These might include: Workshops intended to educate and orient toward action; Panel discussions to bring people with a variety of areas of expertise to engage with a topic; Short film screenings followed by a Q&A or other presentation; Lectures/TED-style talks composed of engaging, informative presentations. | January 7 |
Short 20 minute presentations | Short presentations are academic conference papers or mini-TED talks: engaging, informative, short presentations. These will be combined with other short presentations on similar topics. | January 7 |
Poster session | Large format posters or artworks designed to educate or inform about a specific topic; share your research, activism, or art! All posters and artwork will be presented on Wednesday, April 16 (alongside the non-profit fair) | March 1 |

Statement of Diversity and Inclusion: The Hampton Roads Social Justice Conference seeks to foster a diverse and inclusive atmosphere where all voices are welcomed and can fully participate in this important dialogue. To that end, we strongly encourage submissions from women, people of color, and other groups who have been historically excluded from academia, government, and other positions of power.
Proposal Submission Timeline
- January 7, 2025: Deadline for submission of proposals
- February 1, 2025: Conference acceptance decisions made
- March 14, 2025: Early bird registration closes
- April 6, 2025: Regular registration deadline
- April 15-16, 2025: Conference
Registration is required for all presenters (each individual must register for the conference separately) and includes attendance at all sessions and keynote speakers as well as breakfast, lunch, and coffee on both days.
