After Graduation
A music education at Christopher Newport will put you on solid ground for a rewarding career and a lifetime of appreciation for the performing arts.
Students who graduate with the bachelor of music and master of arts in teaching degrees in instrumental or choral music education are prepared to teach in elementary and secondary schools. It’s also a strong basis for ensemble conductors intending to teach at the college level.
Composition graduates often go on to become professional songwriters, composers, theorists and arrangers, while performance and jazz studies majors are prepared to enter graduate study; to pursue professional performance opportunities in opera, musical theater, symphonies or military ensembles; or to develop a private teaching studio.
