I was born (Corpus Christi) and raised (Beeville) in South Texas. I attended Texas A&M University-College Station for a BA is sociology (2005) and Penn State University for my MA (2008) and PhD in sociology (2014). My graduate research is in religious conflict. My current work has been in LGBTQ+ inclusion and exclusion in organized sports.
