Group Visits
Through our group visit program middle and high school students will become familiar with Christopher Newport University through an information session provided by current students and/or a campus tour provided by CNU student ambassadors (about two hours total). Elementary school students will receive a tour only. Please review the following information carefully prior to scheduling a group visit.
Accommodations for group visits are limited; tours are scheduled on weekdays at select times on a first-come, first-served basis. Group Visits are not available Saturday or Sunday. Groups are still welcome on campus; however, no formal presentation or tour will be provided on these days.
Requests for group visits must be received at least two weeks prior to your desired visit date. Your tour is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation notice that includes your tour date, time and other pertinent information.
Groups that do not show up for a scheduled tour or that cancel less than 72 hours prior to their scheduled visit will have future requests reviewed; if more than two of these failures to attend/cancellations occur, tours may not be permitted for the group for at least one calendar year.
There should be at least one chaperone for every 10 students visiting. Chaperones are expected to review the group visit ground rules with students before they arrive as well as play an active role in maintaining student compliance with those rules during the visit.
We look forward to welcoming your group to the Christopher Newport campus.
