Summer Aid
Students who receive financial aid during the regular school year and anticipate enrolling for a summer session should plan their budget ahead of time. Summer aid is generally limited to loans, and in some cases, Federal Pell Grant eligibility.
Federal Direct student loans are subject to annual borrowing limits. The more Direct loan funds a student borrows during the fall and spring semesters, the fewer loan funds will be available for the summer session.
For consideration of summer aid, students must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2023–24 academic year.
- Submit a Summer Aid Application to the Office of Financial Aid by May 1, 2024.
- Be enrolled at least half-time for Direct loan consideration.
Students who have borrowed up to the annual loan limit in federal Direct loans may apply for a federal Direct PLUS loan or a private loan.
