The Office of Institutional Compliance/Title IX participates in coordinating the institution’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.), the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Age Discrimination Act of 1975; the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008; the Virginia Human Rights Act; and other applicable state and/or federal laws through:
- receiving and responding to reports of discrimination and harassment and overseeing the informal and formal resolution process and identifying any patterns or systemic problems revealed by such reports.
- serving impartially, including by avoiding prejudgment of facts at issue, conflicts of interest, and bias.
- tracking the university’s compliance efforts and consulting and providing support to the university’s administrators also tasked with coordinating such efforts.

Hours: Open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
(except for days and times university offices are closed due to inclement weather, holidays, or other scheduled closures)
Communication
The Office of Institutional Compliance/Title IX regularly communicates with CNU students and employees using the student or employee’s assigned CNU email address. CNU students and employees are responsible for regularly checking and maintaining their access to their assigned CNU email.
If an individual does not have an active CNU email address they may provide an alternative email address to the Office of Institutional Compliance/Title IX. Communication is considered received upon delivery.

Title IX Liaisons
Title IX liaisons are designated CNU employees who partner with the Office of Institutional Compliance/Title IX. Title IX liaisons may be involved in coordinating scheduling of educational sessions by the Office of Institutional Compliance/Title IX for their areas and consulting on the provision of resources to parties involved in reports and formal complaints.
